My first sighting of elk, before starting the trail, when it was still exciting.

That's my trail, those are the elk standing unsettlingly close to my trail. Then on the way back I figured out they're basically just larger, uglier cows.

There were about fifteen males lying next to each other up on a hill across from herd #2.

I waited for this one to cross the trail before moving forward.
