Peace Corps/Senegal

In September 2004 I arrived in Senegal, West Africa, for two months of language and technical training before being sworn in as a sustainable agriculture volunteer on November 17th, 2004. Living in a small village in south-eastern Senegal, I worked on a variety of projects, ranging from seed distribution to jewelry sales. I completed my service in October 2006.

Volunteer webpages and other Peace Corps sites were invaluable to me during my application process as I tried to get a sense of this unimaginable thing I was about to do. This site is my attempt at contributing to those resources and fulfilling the third goal of the Peace Corps: to promote a better understanding of the rest of the world among Americans.
